1. Acceptance

By downloading or using ChessMogg ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. What the app does

ChessMogg analyzes publicly available chess games. You provide a Chess.com username; the app fetches that account's public games from Chess.com's public API and computes statistics on your device. Opening population statistics and puzzles are read from bundled databases derived from Lichess's public CC0 exports. Chad, ChessMogg's AI chess coach, may send the current chess position to Lichess for cached evaluation and sends your question, position, game moves, and evaluation evidence through ChessMogg's Cloudflare service to OpenAI to generate a reply. Free use of Chad is limited to 10 messages per week; active subscribers receive unlimited messages, subject to reasonable abuse controls.

3. Your responsibilities

You may only look up usernames whose public games you are entitled to view (all games fetched are already public). You agree not to abuse, overload, or attempt to disrupt the app or the third-party services it relies on.

4. Third-party services

The app depends on Chess.com's public API, Lichess's cloud-evaluation API, Cloudflare, RevenueCat, and OpenAI's API. We do not control these services; they may change or become unavailable at any time, and their own terms apply.

5. No warranty

The app is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. Engine evaluations and statistics are informational and provided without any guarantee of accuracy.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LiNGUiD LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app.

7. Changes

We may update these terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be noted in the app or release notes.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA.
